Scope and Impact

The disruption is impacting a broad swath of users, particularly in the North America region, but reports indicate that other areas may also be affected. Key services impacted include:

  • Microsoft Teams: Users report difficulty joining meetings and sending messages.
  • OneDrive for Business: File access and sharing are intermittently unavailable.
  • SharePoint Online: Collaboration features are degraded or inaccessible.

The Microsoft 365 suite as a whole is experiencing degraded performance, with some users unable to access core services required for daily business operations.

Microsoft engineers are actively investigating the root cause, focusing on a segment of their Azure Front Door (AFD) infrastructure that is underperforming. As a mitigation step, traffic is being rerouted to healthier infrastructure nodes in an attempt to restore normal service levels as quickly as possible.

The company has advised administrators and users to monitor the Microsoft 365 Admin Center for ongoing updates under the issue ID MO1068615. As of the latest update at 8:19 PM IST, recovery efforts are ongoing, and Microsoft is prioritizing the restoration of Teams functionality due to its critical role in business communications.

While Microsoft’s official Service Health Status page has not yet reflected the outage, the company has acknowledged the incident and is providing updates through its status channels. Users are encouraged to remain patient as mitigation efforts continue and to check the Admin Center for the latest information.

Further updates are expected as Microsoft works to fully resolve the incident and restore all affected services to normal operation.
