Kali Linux 2020.3 was released with various impressive updates, and this is 3rd update for this year and it contains several improvements compared to earlier Kali 2020.2 and Kali 2020.1.
Kali Linux is cybersecurity and Hacking based Linux distribution that is widely used by millions of security professionals, and hackers in both offensive and defensive sides and it contains hundrends of Hacking tools by default.
This newly-released version comes up with the New Shell, Bluetooth Arsenal, Automating HiDPI support, Nokia Support, new updated tools icons and made the installer quick that overcome the missing network repositories.
Highlights of the new Kali linux 2020.3
Bash Replaced with ZSH Shell
Experts behind the Kali linux keep upgrading at-least one its core part of the operating system in every update. In Kali linux 2020.3, they have concentrated deep with Shell . Bash Shell that is used in the previous version by default has now been replaced with a new ZSH shell.
“We understand that “shells” are a very personal and precious thing to everyone (local or remote!), as that is how most people interact with Kali Linux. To the point where lots of experienced users only use a “GUI” to spin up multiple terminals” Kali Linux Developers said.
ZSH Shell will be replaced the Bash shell in Kali Linux 2020.4 by default. in this current version of 2020.3 release, bash will still be the default.
If you want to try this new ZSH shell, you should have ZSH already installed else go for the new kai Linux 2020.3 and try this following command,
sudo apt install -y zsh zsh-syntax-highlighting zsh-autosuggestionsWindows Subsystem for Linux
Another interesting improvement in Kali Linux 2020.3 is Windows Subsystem for Linux with GUI desktop, and introduced Win-KeX (Windows + Kali Desktop EXperience) which is one of the most exciting future that spawning the direct Desktop to Environment directly within windows.
You can install WSL by launching the following command.
sudo apt update && sudo apt install -y kali-win-kex
Bluetooth Arsenal
Kali NetHunter team has introduced a Bluetooth Arsenal which contains a list of Bluetooth tools in the Kali NetHunter app that also can be used for reconnaissance, spoofing, listening to and injecting audio into various devices, including speakers, headsets, watches, or even cars with the help of external network adaptor.
Other Notable Updates in kali linux 2020.3
With the Latest kali linux 2020.3 release, Kali linux has updated more themed icons for tools and now Kali NetHunter now supports the Nokia 3.1 and Nokia 6.1 phones.

Now you can use the following command to update your system to the latest Kali 2020.3:-
sudo apt update && sudo apt -y full-upgrade
