Recently, a collaboration of law enforcement agencies worldwide has declared the results of a coordinated operation known as DisrupTor and they have arrested several vendors and buyers of illicit goods on the Dark Web.
A total of 179 arrests expanded over six countries, and 500 kilograms of drugs were seized that includes fentanyl, oxycodone, hydrocodone, methamphetamine, heroin, cocaine, ecstasy, MDMA, and medicine containing addictive substances, and 64 firearms.
Not only this but they have also seized $6.5 million in cash and cryptocurrencies. This whole operation of DisrupTor was managed by the European Union Agency for Law Enforcement Cooperation along with the German Federal Criminal Police, Dutch National Police, the U.K. National Crime Agency, U.S. government agencies, including the Department of Justice and Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), and many others.
The arrests took place in Austria, Germany, Australia, Canada, the Netherlands, United Kingdom, Sweden, and the United States. Apart from this, Austria has 3 arrests, Germany has 42 arrests, the Netherlands has 8 arrests, Sweden has 1 arrest, Australia, Canada, the U.K has 4 arrests, and the U.S. is the one who had the most arrests is leading with 121.
Fight Against Dark WebÂ
The main theme of the operation DisrupTor was composed of a series of separate but interconnected joint operations that are organized and regulated by Europol and Eurojust, all intended at making a global influence on the sale of illicit goods on the Dark Web.
The report claims that this operation is successful because of all the collaborative effort between the law enforcement and administrative rights of Austria, Cyprus, Germany, the Netherlands, Sweden, Australia, Canada, the United Kingdom, and the United States.

According to the Report, the danger that is involved in buying illegal goods from Dark Web are mentioned below:-

Dark Web is Not a Playground

That’s why the police not only shut down such illegal marketplaces, but they also chase down the criminals who are purchasing and trading all illegal goods via such sites.
The investigations affirm that all these successful arrests were linked with the victorious seizure of the famous Wall Street Market dark web marketplace that was taken down by the German police in 2019.
The experts asserted that all the Vendors from that site were attacked in the most advanced bust and have earlier been arrested by U.S. police since the market’s closed.
Apart from this, all the result of operation DisrupTor, federal prosecutions are being administered in more than 20 federal districts.
