WhatsApp Privacy Updates Force Users to Agree on New Privacy Policy to Continue Using The App

Whatsapp is one of the famous messaging apps that have Billions of users, and we all know that Facebook owns Whatsapp, and nowadays, it has been conducting an in-app notification regarding the updated terms of service and privacy policy.

The app informs the users regarding the changes made in the policy of the immediate messaging platform on February 8, 2020. However, the report that has been stated by Whatsapp clearly affirms that every user must agree to the new terms and conditions of Whatsapp by February 8, 2021, or else users may lose access to their chats and contacts.

According to the report, this new update arrives in the form of an in-app notification that we have said above, and here users can choose to overlook the notification until the date appears.

Integration with Facebook Companies

This new update policy states that WhatsApp may convey to users marketing material regarding Facebook companies. Moreover, the firm will use your data that has been received from the app and other Facebook services for content ideas, people support, and ads, along with service enhancements.

However, Facebook has previously integrated Instagram and Messenger for cross-platform interaction. And along with this latest change, it intends to contribute “integrations which will allow you to connect your WhatsApp activities with other Facebook Company Products.”

Yes or Yes?

According to the report, it has been proclaimed that every user will be given only two choices, either acquire the policies or to lose access to the application’s services. In short, currently, the decisions of Whatsapp seem to be a bit crazy.

Users can visit the ‘Help Center’ to determine more regarding the updated policies without any hesitation. And WhatsApp has also mentioned the key updates that include:-

  • Alterations in how WhatsApp prepares user data.
  • How businesses can utilize Facebook-hosted services to collect and manage their WhatsApp chats.
  • How WhatsApp partners, along with Facebook, will allow integrations across ‘Facebook Company Products.’

Interconnection with businesses and new feature

Whatsapp business services have grown quite a bit in the last few years, with more than 50 million users. But, now Whatsapp wants to expand all its services, that’s why it will now allow the businesses to integrate other services into the chat app.

Now the third party app might be able to see users’ communication on account of the businesses’ business. And these third-party apps could be able to get some more information from the users.

So, with this new policy, WhatsApp will allow in-app interactions, and allowing it may add convenience to users; however, it’s essential to comprehend what information they’re giving away in exchange.

Since WhatsApp is one of the most famous messaging apps, so if it brings any changes, then it will come on the heels of controversy that implies the chat app assembles much more data than Apple’s iMessage.
