Mindgard Raises $30 Million to Tackle AI’s Fastest-Growing Attack Surface

AI security startup Mindgard has closed a $30 million Series A funding round, pushing the company’s total funding to nearly $42 million. The milestone reflects the growing urgency among enterprise organizations seeking to secure rapidly expanding artificial intelligence deployments.

The round was led by Album VC, with Karma Ventures joining as a new backer alongside returning investors .406 Ventures, Atlantic Bridge, IQ Capital, and Lakestar.

Mindgard plans to allocate the fresh capital toward scaling its product, engineering, sales, and marketing teams to meet surging customer demand.

Mindgard Raises $30 Million for AI Security

Spun out of Lancaster University, home to what Mindgard describes as the world’s largest AI security lab, the company has converted over a decade of research expertise into a commercial platform.

Its core innovation centers on Dynamic Application Security Testing (DAST) for AI, a continuous, automated red-teaming framework.

Rather than relying on theoretical risk assessments, the platform probes AI models, agents, and applications for vulnerabilities using real-world attack techniques.

As enterprises evaluate leading AI security software solutions, adopting an offensive security mindset has become essential for uncovering concrete, validated findings before adversaries exploit them.

The platform’s continuous testing approach builds upon emerging methodologies in autonomous penetration testing to evaluate model behavior under adversarial conditions.

Mindgard’s offensive approach has already yielded tangible security insights. The platform has identified and publicly disclosed more than 150 high-impact security and safety vulnerabilities across widely deployed AI products.

Each discovered vulnerability feeds directly into Mindgard’s proprietary threat intelligence knowledge base, continuously refining its offensive and defensive algorithms.

As detailed in the official announcement on Mindgard’s Series A Blog, operationalizing researcher expertise turns cutting-edge threat intelligence into an enterprise-ready defensive capability. Addressing these risks is critical as organizations scale AI agent security controls across production environments.

The Series A round follows rapid adoption across Fortune 2000 enterprises and AI-native startups spanning financial services, pharmaceuticals, gaming, digital services, semiconductors, and healthcare.

As organizations transition AI from pilot experiments into core operational workflows, continuous vulnerability testing has become a primary requirement.
