According to a report by Dark Web Informer on X, the breach was discovered on July 10, 2024.

The compromised data includes sensitive information such as Lulu Hypermarket customers’ names, email addresses, phone numbers, and home addresses.

The source of the breach is yet to be confirmed, but initial investigations suggest that it may have originated from a vulnerability in the company’s online shopping platform.

The tweet from Dark Web Informer stated, “Lulu Hypermarket data breach: 196,000 users’ data exposed.

Investigations are ongoing to determine the source and extent of the breach.”

Company Response

Lulu Hypermarket has issued an official statement acknowledging the breach and expressing regret over the incident.

The company has assured its customers that it is taking immediate steps to mitigate the breach’s impact and enhance its cybersecurity measures.

“We are deeply sorry for the inconvenience and concern this incident may have caused.

Our team is working tirelessly to prevent such breaches from occurring in the future,” the statement read.

The company has also advised affected customers to monitor their accounts for any suspicious activity and to change their passwords as a precautionary measure.

Lulu Hypermarket also offers free credit monitoring services to those impacted by the breach.
