Penetration Testing Distro Kali Linux 2020.1a Released With Fix for Bugs with 2020.1

Kali Linux 2020.1 was released earlier this year, it includes major changes with installers and users had issues in using those images. To fix the bugs Kali Linux 2020.1a was Released yesterday.

With the Kali Linux 2020.1 traditional default non-root user” has been introduced, so there is no longer a superuser account and default user now is a standard.

Changes with Base Image in Kali Linux 2020.1a

The 2020.1a release is only for the users who weren’t able to successfully install 2020.1 by the Pen testing services firm. There is a bug within a dependency chain of 2020.1 which causes many users not to get a graphical interface after installing Kali.

The update is also available for both 32-bit and 64-bit for Raspberry Pi as files being corrupted during the initial image.

With the Kali Linux 2020.1 default, the user has been switched to kali with the vagrant image as well. A Vagrant is a tool for building and managing virtual machine environments in a single workflow.

Now for the vagrant images, the update has been reverted, you can also use the KaliLinux on a PineBook Pro.
