Google Co-Founders Larry and Sergey Step Down; Sundar Pichai Now CEO of Both Google & Alphabet

After 21 years of launching Google co-founders, Sergey Brin and Larry Page stepped from their leadership roles from Alphabet and Sundar Pichai will be the CEO for both Google & Alphabet.

Google was founded by Page and Brin in 1998, now Google is one of the world’s largest and profitable company. Page and Brin are stepping down as CEO and president role.

Google Cheif Sundar Pichai will take over the CEO of Alphabet, Page and Brin will continue as the company’s board of directors.

“With Alphabet now well-established, and Google and the Other Bets operating effectively as independent companies, it’s the natural time to simplify our management structure.”

Alphabet is now a well-established company that holds Google and other bets as independent companies, the letter reads that Alphabet and Google no longer need two CEOs and a President.

“Today, in 2019, if the company was a person, it would be a young adult of 21 and it would be time to leave the roost. While it has been a tremendous privilege to be deeply involved in the day-to-day management of the company for so long, we believe it’s time to assume the role of proud parents—offering advice and love, but not daily nagging!”.

Sundar Pichai will continue to be the CEO of both Google and Alphabet, he will be responsible for leading Google and managing the Alphabet’s investment.

Larry and Sergey said that “While it has been a tremendous privilege to be deeply involved in the day-to-day management of the company for so long, we believe it’s time to assume the role of proud parents—offering advice and love, but not daily nagging!.”

Page diminish from public appearance, he is absent from the company’s quarterly earnings calls and hasn’t appeared in the big tech hearings on Capitol Hill.
