However, it wasn’t the structured curriculum that captivated Pham but the uncharted territories beyond it.

During his third year at university, Pham did a part-time internship in cybersecurity. There, he had his first real taste of hacking beyond textbooks—he dove headfirst into the world of penetration testing and vulnerability research.

And as he discovered flaws one after another, his curiosity only grew, fueling an insatiable hunger for knowledge.

Combining his curiosity with an unwavering drive to push boundaries, Pham set the stage for his decade-long journey in the cybersecurity field.

Security researchers consider the Pwn2Own as the pinnacle of achievement.

Widely regarded as the Olympics of ethical hacking, the competition challenges participants to exploit the world’s most secure software and hardware vulnerabilities.

With its prestige and reputation, winning the Pwn2Own cements professionals’ technical expertise and ability to think beyond conventional attack methods.

And this was Pham’s defining moment he led his team to multiple victories in 2021, 2022, and 2023.

His team successfully uncovered and exploited high-profile vulnerabilities in Microsoft Teams, IoT devices, and enterprise security systems.

These exploits, which cybercriminals could have leveraged for devastating attacks, became the basis for security patches protecting millions of users worldwide.

His achievements in Pwn2Own cemented his reputation as a world-class hacker—a key player in the cybersecurity research community.

Furthermore, Pham believes that engineers and developers can’t develop defensive systems without the power of collaboration:

“No single individual can secure the internet alone it requires a collective effort from security researchers, engineers, and ethical hackers.”

With this belief, Pham Van Khanh is determined to work with people who share the same goal creating defensive systems that even malicious minds can’t break. 

For him, only by collaboration can we be proactive enough to fight the threats that we can’t even see.

Pham Van Khanh’s career is a testament to the fact that cybersecurity extends beyond finding weaknesses in systems—it’s about making the digital world safer.

From his time at university to winning cybersecurity competitions and securing high-profile clients’ systems, he’s dedicated to breaking new ground in cybersecurity and shaping its future, especially in today’s ever-advancing technological landscape.

And he’ll only continue from here on out as long as cyber threats are looming around.
