Google Removed 600 Malicious Apps From Play Store that Aggressively Distribute Ads

In the mission of cracking down abusive ad providers, Google has removed 600 apps from the Google play store.

All the removed apps banned from Google ads monetization platforms such as Google AdMob and Google Ad Manager for violating disruptive and disallowed interstitial ad policies.

Google continues to enhance the safety of Google Play with continuous improvements, enhancements, and teams to fight against malicious apps and developers.

The disruptive ads are one of the ads displayed in unexpected ways and interfere with the device’s usability functions.

Nowadays malicious developers display ads in one form called out-of-context ads, in which the developers can display the ads even the user is not active in their app.

These abusive ads result in poor user experience and lead to unintentional ad clicks and wastes advertisers’ money.

Google said that malicious developers continue to be savvier in deploying and masking disruptive ads, but Google developed new technologies to protect against this behavior.

Their recent machine learning approach “detects when apps show out-of-context ads, which led to the enforcement we’re announcing today.”

Recently it was spotted that more than 470,000 times Downloaded Malicious Android Utility Apps on Google Play Install Malware and Perform Mobile Ad Fraud.
