Microsoft Announced a Defender Antivirus for Linux – Android & iOS Version Coming Soon

Microsoft Announced a Defender Advanced Threat Protection (APT) Antivirus for Linux users, and now it’s released for public preview.

Microsoft Defender Antivirus is known for offering Advanced Threat protection for Windows by default to prevent Windows users from malware attacks and protect the User’s sensitive data.

Now Defender ATP is Available for Windows, Mac and Linux and Microsoft announced that they are going to provide a preview of mobile threat defense for Android and iOS in next week’s RSA conference.

“We know our customers’ environments are complex and heterogenous. Providing comprehensive protection across multiple platforms through a single solution and streamlined view is more important than ever.” Microsoft told via a blog post.

Microsoft keep adding high intelligence such as Tamper protection to provide next-gen security to their users and block the advanced and never before seen malware within a seconds.

Microsoft Threat Protection is a unified pre and post-breach enterprise defense suite that natively integrates across endpoint, identity, email, and applications to detect, prevent, investigate and automatically respond to sophisticated attacks.

“We are announcing the public preview of preventative protection capabilities from Microsoft Defender ATP on the following supported Linux server distributed versions: RHEL 7+, CentOS Linux 7+, Ubuntu 16 LTS, or higher LTS, SLES 12+, Debian 9+, and Oracle EL 7,”  Microsoft told.

 Microsoft Defender will also be available on iOS and Android by the end of the year and the Microsoft Defender on mobile will focus on blocking malware and phishing attacks.
