Check Point Software Technologies Ltd, a leading provider of cyber security solutions, has announced a strategic partnership with Wiz, a cloud security provider, to tackle the increasing challenges of securing hybrid cloud environments.
This collaboration aims to bridge the gap between cloud network security and Cloud Native Application Protection (CNAPP), offering a unified security solution through technological integration and a business alliance.
Nadav Zafrir, CEO of Check Point, stated that this partnership aims to create a new security approach by combining Check Point’s cloud network security skills with Wiz’s CNAPP capabilities to provide comprehensive protection across hybrid environments.
The collaboration seeks to transform how organizations manage risk, enabling more efficient teamwork and control. Today’s enterprises face the difficulty of network and cloud security operating independently, resulting in gaps in visibility and control.
Cloud network security teams often lack context regarding cloud-specific risks, while cloud security teams struggle to understand how network security measures protect assets, leading to inefficiencies and increased cyber risks.
Assaf Rappaport, Co-Founder and CEO of Wiz, mentioned that the partnership would enhance visibility and prioritize risks by combining Wiz’s CNAPP technology with Check Point’s cloud network security expertise. The goal is to ensure companies can protect their network and cloud environments with an integrated solution while also democratizing cloud security.
The partnership offers several key benefits to customers:
- Unified Security Insights: Integration of Check Point’s network security controls within Wiz’s CNAPP platform enables real-time, network-driven insights for smarter risk prioritization and automated attack prevention.
- Enhanced Risk Context: Wiz’s risk analysis integrates into Check Point’s platform, providing actionable recommendations for network security teams to optimize security coverage.
- Prioritization of Unsecured Assets: Empowers cloud security teams to identify and address unsecured assets using network security data to guide decision-making.
- Optimized Security Operations: Network security teams gain from tailored recommendations generated by Wiz’s platform, enhancing operational efficiency across hybrid environments.
This partnership includes the assisted migration of Check Point’s CNAPP customers to Wiz, with Check Point planning to reallocate resources towards its cloud security business, including cloud network security, web application firewall (WAF), and generative AI technologies.
A Cloud Native Application Protection Platform (CNAPP) is an integrated security solution designed to protect applications in multi-cloud environments.
CNAPPs offer features such as Cloud Infrastructure Entitlement Management (CIEM), Kubernetes Security Posture Management (KSPM), Data Security Posture Management (DSPM), Cloud Detection and Response (CDR), and AI-Driven Security Posture Management (AI-SPM).
CNAPPs centralize security capabilities, providing access to workload, network, and container security features. They also enhance visibility by contextualizing information and providing end-to-end insights across an organization’s application infrastructure.
This collaboration highlights both companies’ commitment to driving security innovation and addressing cloud security challenges faced by enterprises.
