“In today’s world, we’re only beginning to scratch the surface of the transformative and potentially disruptive power of generative AI,” he believes.

“I have many questions,” he says. “For example, could AI systems become creative adversaries, constantly evolving their attacks beyond what our traditional defenses can handle? Then, what if AI systems could autonomously generate polymorphic malware on the fly, rewriting their own code and behaviors with each new deployment, making it nearly impossible for signature-based or behavioral detection methods to keep up?”
He continues: “What if cybercriminals use generative AI to craft phishing campaigns to hyper-personalize messages in ways that are practically irresistible to their targets.
Or even worse, what if attackers using AI-powered reconnaissance tools start rapidly discovering zero-day exploits at an unprecedented scale?”
It’s this critical thinking which has made him a thought leader in his profession. Asking necessary questions, he believes, helps one to come up with necessary solutions.
He has written research papers which address both critical cybersecurity concerns and suggest solutions.
In a paper, “Behavioral Intelligence at Scale: Implementing UEBA for Enhanced Security Posture,” he highlights the pivotal role of Data Science and Machine Learning-based User and Entity Behavior Analytics (UEBA) in modern cybersecurity, offering a detailed analysis of its architectural design, deployment strategies, and integration within contemporary environments.
While another paper gives a comprehensive analysis on UEBA’s capabilities in identifying threats, while also tackling key challenges such as data bias, model drift, and false positives.
Additionally, his other papers examine Zero-Trust Frameworks, and other factors related to Cloud security.
Kumrashan believes cybersecurity teams and companies seeking fool-proof cybersecurity measures have to consider this reality and embrace the new battle ground of AI vs. AI.
“This means investing in AI-driven defensive agents that can continuously learn, model threats in real-time, and respond automatically,” he says. “It’s not just an opportunity. It’s a necessity.”
